San Luis, Arizona, although a small community, is big in Education.
The Gadsden School District #32 has under its umbrella:
• 1 Pre-school- ages 3-5 with about 89 students
• 6 Elementary Schools-K through 6 Grade w/+ - 630 students each
• 2 Middle Schools-7th and 8th Grade w/+- 600 students each
• 1 High School-9-12 Grade w/+-
• There were 320 graduates in 2005
• Expected graduates 410 in 2006
This High School is under the umbrella of the Yuma High School District #70. They have been in existence for only four (4) years. Out of those four (4) years, there have been only two (2) graduating classes, since the12th grade has only been available to students for the past two (2) years.
Higher Education
• Northern Arizona University is located only 20 miles from San Luis, Arizona.
• There are also several locations (extensions) of Arizona Western Collage, some in San Luis Arizona, Somerton and Yuma.
• The Phoenix University is also an alternative for adult working groups and is in Yuma 20 miles from
San Luis Az.
Early Child Development Education is a great factor, in the San Luis area.
• Four (4) pre-school centers are located in the San Luis, Arizona, area. All of these
serve children from birth to five (5) years of age. Their forte is Education, Nutrition,
and Health programs.
• San Luis, Arizona, also, has a Public library well equipped for any student’s needs
to comply with their educational curricula. It is open four (4) days a week.
